It may not be as intense as the roar of "Edd-ie, "Edd-ie" heard upon Eddie Giacomin's return with Detroit or Brian Leetch's with Boston.
In regards to the "Let’s get it on" column (Sept. 30th) Ryan Kennedy wrote one of the games of note included Sean Avery's visit to New York against the Rangers in what promises to be a jeer-filled return with a rough reception.

The stars can't be stars, the goalie equipment is ridiculous and most of the goals have to come on power plays, deflected shots and screens.
The NHL doesn't get it.
(Most) fans want more scoring. The NHL shoots itself in the foot depriving fans of the most exciting moment in hockey.

Goalies should be allowed to wear the ‘C’ and I will go as far as to say even the ‘A.’
It’s time for the NHL to change with the times.
Ryan Kennedy was dead on in his online column. The Vancouver Canucks named Roberto Luongo team captain and that’s an excellent choice.

It seems the NHL is forgetting why it exists in the first place and shows the true fan they mean nothing.
In this day and age of the NHL constantly preaching cost certainty and stability until our ears bleed, how is it possible within 10 years Stockholm or Moscow have a better chance at an NHL franchise than Southern Ont.

We drove to New Jersey from our home outside Albany, N.Y. Seats on the glass, our heroes on the ice; the complete deal. And then there was magic.
Many issues ago you published a letter written about a great experience a father and his child had running into an NHL ref at a hotel. Although I imagine you get many similar letters, I thought I'd share mine.

He had three 100+ point seasons in the QMJHL, not to mention 51 points in 19 playoff games. This proves Giroux is a better player than Stamkos, statistically.
I have to disagree with The Hockey News for the first time in a while.
Reading up on Steven Stamkos being the clear cut Calder choice is pretty laughable.

The fact teams have to overpay to reach a ceiling is horrible.
Ken Campbell was right with his piece he wrote about the Jarrett Stoll contract.
You can’t blame the player for taking the money; the owners brought this upon themselves.

Showing up to play for reasons other than the scouts does deserve a trophy.
While I found the latter half of Ken Campbell's facetious "Everyone Gets a Trophy Day" article mildly amusing, I couldn't help but feel a little sick reading his pretentious preamble ranting about the merits of only giving trophies to "winners" in minor hockey, which reeked of high school jock mentality.

If Los Angeles to Montreal is so taxing, what’s so good about San Jose to Helsinki?
I found Adam Proteau's interview with Paul Kelly to be a good window into the man at the helm of the NHLPA. Of particular interest was Kelly's take on European expansion, suggesting it's "critical for our future growth.

I used to be able to afford good seats, but now I'm stuck in the upper deck.
The Red Wings raised ticket prices! This is a slap in the face to a struggling Michigan economy.
They win the Cup think they can do anything.

It will be tough not to see some of his great articles every week in the publication that I wait at my mailbox for.
When I heard about Mike Brophy leaving THN to go to Rogers television network, I was greatly saddened. He was one of my favorite writers in the magazine and it will be tough not to see some of his great articles every week in the publication that I wait at my mailbox for.

It will be a great day for hockey when Joe kisses Lord Stanley and all of his critics goodbye.
He gets 90-plus points consistently, has led the league in apples for three years running, potted nearly 30 genos last year, hits, fights for his teammates (just ask Steve Ott), plays all 82 games (cause he sucks it up and plays hurt), has a solid two way game, and wears an A.
