A 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman, Éric Gélinas is in his second season with the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior League after putting up three goals and 19 points in 54 games last season. The St-Jean-sur-Richelie, Que., native is eligible for the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Mike MacPherson began scouting in 1999 for the Chicago Blackhawks and was responsible for the ECHL. He is currently the director of scouting for the Phoenix Roadrunners, NHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and also scouts the OHL for the International Scouting Service. MacPherson also coaches in the OMHA within Guelph Minor hockey.

After playing four years at Bowling Green, the Dryden, Ont., native bounced around several leagues, including the ECHL, IHL, AHL, NHL and Europe.
Erika Vanderveer is a goaltender with the Burlington Barracudas of the Canadian Women’s League, a six-team circuit featuring many the game’s top female players. Vanderveer is in her first season in the CWHL after spending four years tending goal at Ohio State on a full scholarship and one year in Europe in the EWHL.
Ulf Samuelsson was a defenseman who played on the edge in the NHL from 1984 until he retired in 2000. After a few years out of hockey, Samuelsson returned to the game when he joined the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack as an assistant coach. This is his third season as an assistant coach with the Phoenix Coyotes.
Born in Ceske-Budejovice of the former Czechoslovakia, defenseman Jaroslav Modry returned to his native Czech Republic to play for Liberec after 725 NHL games. Drafted in the ninth round (179th overall) by the Devils in 1990, Modry played for N.J., Ottawa, Atlanta, Dallas, L.A. and Philadephia during his NHL career.
Jarret Stoll was drafted in the second round, 46th overall by the Flames in 2000, but re-entered the draft in 2002 where the Oilers picked him 36th overall. He played five seasons in Edmonton, scoring 165 points, before being dealt to the Kings in the summer of 2008.
Dan Ellis was drafted 60th overall by Dallas in 2000, but played just one NHL game before hooking on with Nashville at the start of last season. By the end of the 2007-08 campaign, Ellis had taken over as the No. 1 and started for the Preds against Detroit in the first round of the playoffs.
A native of Flushing, N.Y., David Littman was drafted by the Sabres in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four years at Boston College before turning pro in 1989. Over the next 10 years, Littman would play in the ECHL, IHL, AHL and NHL (with Buffalo and Tampa Bay). The 40-year-old currently works as a producer for the wildly popular EA Sports NHL series of video games.

A goalie during his playing days, his administrative hockey career has included stops as the Edmonton Oilers’ director of AHL operations, senior consultant with SportCanada, and head coach and director of hockey operations for the Western League’s Victoria Cougars.
Mike Smith worked with the Rangers, Jets, Maple Leafs and Blackhawks during his time in NHL management, holding the roles of GM, assistant coach, head coach, director of hockey operations and director of scouting. The Potsdam, N.Y., native has also been heavily involved with USA Hockey, acting as GM for their world championship teams in 1981, 1994 and 1995.
Viktor Tikhonov is a right winger drafted 28th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes at the 2008 draft. Last year, he played in the Russian Super League (now the Kontinental League) for Severstal and is the grandson of legendary coach Viktor Tikhonov.
Ben Clymer was originally drafted in the second round, 27th overall, by the Boston Bruins in 1997. He played 438 games in the NHL over seven seasons with Tampa Bay and Washington, scoring 52 goals and 129 points. After playing for the American League’s Hershey Bears in 2007-08, Clymer joined Dynamo Minsk of the new Kontinental League.
Mark Stuart is a defenseman in his fourth season with the Boston Bruins. A native of Rochester, Minn., Stuart was drafted out of Colorado College by the Bruins in 2003 (21st overall) and joined the club for the 2005-06 campaign.
Mark Hartigan is a veteran of 102 NHL games and won Stanley Cups with the Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings. He is beginning his first season in the KHL with Dinamo Riga in 2008-09.

Selected in the eighth round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Fernando Pisani has played his entire NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers. The 31-year-old, who led the NHL playoffs in goals with 14 in 2006, missed 26 games during the 2007-08 season while battling ulcerative colitis.
