
Copy editor and regular THN.com contributor John Grigg is a former low-scoring, high school forward who's now an even lower-scoring, rec-league defenseman. He's been earning his chops with the THN farm team since November 2007 and graduated to the big club late in 2008.
With The Hockey News since 2007, Rory Boylen is the web content specialist of THN.com. A certified minor hockey referee for 10 years and a pesky center, he grew up with a rink in his backyard. His duties include editing and helping generate content for the site.
Writer and copy editor Ryan Kennedy joined The Hockey News in 2005 after a freelancing career in newspapers and magazines. He is the creator of Jersey Hound as well as the co-author of the the book Young Guns with Ryan Dixon.
THN.com editor Edward Fraser joined The Hockey News in 2005 after covering the Jr. B Stratford Cullitons. The London, Ont., native graduated from the University of Western Ontario – where he did campus radio color commentary for both men’s and women’s hockey – with a Master's in Journalism.
Jason Kay has been Editor in Chief of The Hockey News since 2001. A stay-at-home defenseman as a youth player, he minds the crew at THN, directs editorial policy and helps set a vision for the brand. His Editor’s Notebook appears in each issue of The Hockey News and his blogs run regularly on THN.com.
Writer and copy editor Ryan Dixon has been part of The Hockey News since 2005 after working for a number of newspapers in Ontario and Western Canada. He has covered the game from its grassroots to the NHL level and co-authored the book Hockey’s Young Guns with Ryan Kennedy.
The senior copy editor, Sam McCaig has been with The Hockey News since 1999. He regularly covers the NHL and AHL, but it hasn’t helped his game – his career high for goals in a season is one (set several times).
The Hockey News’s senior special sections editor, Brian Costello has been with THN since 1990. In addition to his work on the magazine and website, he oversees projects such as the Yearbook, Ultimate Fantasy Guide, Future Watch and Draft Preview.
The Hockey News’s senior writer, Ken Campbell is in his second tour of duty with magazine. He was previously with the publication from 1988 to 1998 before coming back in 2006. He’s also the author of the book Habs Heroes and co-author The Top 60 since 1967.
Writer and columnist Adam Proteau has been with The Hockey News since 1999. He is a frequent contributor to radio and TV programs across North America and won the Professional Hockey Writers Association’s award for best column in 2005-06.
